Our Story
It Started in Her Kitchen
Before there was a company, a website, or a single order to fill, there was one recipe and two people who liked baking it together.
The Recipe
Written Out by Hand
My grandmother’s chocolate chip recipe was never typed up, never posted anywhere, and never really measured all that carefully. It lived on a piece of paper in her kitchen, and the two of us baked from it on Sunday afternoons for years.
We never improved it. We just stopped trying to.
Real Cookie Co. exists because enough people asked for a batch that it stopped being a hobby. The recipe hasn’t changed. Neither has the way we make it.
The Method
Small Batches, Every Time
Real butter creamed with brown sugar. Chocolate folded through by hand, generously enough that you find some in every bite. Then rolled, portioned and baked in batches small enough to actually watch.
That’s why no two cookies come out identical — and why we’d rather bake fewer of them properly than a lot of them quickly. There’s no production line here. There’s a bowl, a spatula, and an oven.
What We Won’t Do
No Shortcuts. No Substitutes.
No margarine standing in for butter. No industrial mixer running batches we never see. No cookie leaving here that we wouldn’t happily put in front of family — because most of the time, that’s exactly who’s eating them.
